Chandravva Dariyappa Yavani along with Mahadev Choli
Hailing from Hosur village of Bagalkot district Chandravva Dariyappa Yavani is one of the 10 siblings of the Choli Family - now famous for systematic farming throughout the region. Growing up in a family that practiced farming for a livelihood, farming became second nature to Chandravva.
Surrounded by sugarcane and maize fields from early childhood she easily imbibed the art of farming. However, her life took an unexpected turn as she was married off, only to face the untimely demise of her husband. Soon after she returned to her maternal home and found unwavering support from her brother Mahadeva Choli. As she knew and truly enjoyed farming she decided to join hands with her brother and has continued to do so for the last 2 decades.
Today she manages and supervises the coriander cultivation single-handedly on their family farm. Not only does she grow coriander but also she sells it in the market. Chandravva exemplifies her perseverance and determination. Chandravva plants hope with every seed, waters it with her hard work, REEAPS the rewards of her efforts, and against all the odds she becomes the testament of spirit.
